What documents do I need to hire a car in Tunisia?expand_more
To hire with Rent A Car Tunisia (reservations.tn) you need: 1) your original driving licence from any country, held for at least 2 years; 2) a valid passport or ID; 3) to be at least 21. No credit card: you pay when you collect the keys.
What's the minimum age to hire a car in Tunisia?expand_more
At Rent A Car Tunisia (reservations.tn), the minimum age is 21, with a licence held for at least 2 years. For SUVs and luxury cars you need to be 25. Between 21 and 25 a young-driver surcharge may apply; the agency confirms it before you book.
Do I need a credit card to hire a car in Tunisia?expand_more
No — you can hire with us without a credit card. We accept cash, debit card, or bank transfer. Payment can be made on arrival, when you collect the vehicle.
How much does it cost to hire a car in Tunisia?expand_more
From 99 DT a day (about €29) for a city car, with unlimited mileage and basic insurance included. The price follows the month: about 100 DT a day from November to March and about 180 DT in July and August for the same city car; SUVs and 7-seaters from 135 DT a day, 9-seat minibuses from 400 DT. You get 5% off from 7 days and 10% off from 14 days. The exact price for your dates is on our prices page, month by month.
Is there a deposit?expand_more
Yes, a refundable deposit is paid when you collect the car: €500 for small and compact cars, €700 for SUVs (like the MG ZS), saloons and 7 or 9-seaters, €3,000 for premium cars (Mercedes, BMW). You can pay it in cash or by card, and it is returned in full when the car comes back in good condition.
Is insurance included in the rental price?expand_more
Yes. The price includes third-party liability and collision damage waiver (CDW). The refundable deposit works as the excess: €500 for small and compact cars, €700 for SUVs, saloons and 7–9 seaters, €3,000 for premium cars, cash or card. If there is damage, the repair is taken from the deposit. The "Deposit reduction" option (15 DT/day) halves the deposit.
How does the excess work in case of an accident?expand_more
The deposit you pay at pickup acts as the excess: €500 for small and compact cars, €700 for SUVs (like the MG ZS), saloons and 7 or 9-seaters, €3,000 for premium cars (Mercedes, BMW). If there is damage, it covers repairs up to that amount; it is returned in full if the car comes back in good condition. No credit card is needed to book. Tyres, windows and the underside of the car are usually excluded.
Do you deliver to the airport at night?expand_more
Yes, we offer a 24/7 service at every Tunisian airport (Tunis-Carthage, Enfidha, Monastir, Djerba). Our team meets you on arrival, even for late-night flights. No surcharge for night deliveries.
