Driving in and around Tunis
The centre is busy, so a small car is easier to park. From Tunis the motorway takes you to Hammamet in about an hour and to Bizerte in about 50 minutes, and Carthage and Sidi Bou Said are 20 minutes away.

Deposit and payment
The deposit is €500 for small and economy cars, €700 for SUVs like the MG ZS, saloons and 7 or 9-seaters, and €3,000 for premium cars (Mercedes, BMW). You can pay it in cash or by card. It also works as the excess: if there is damage, repairs are covered up to that amount, and it comes back in full when the car is returned in good condition. Book 7 days or more and the price drops 5%, 14 days or more and it drops 10%.
